In the meantime, your local Ben Franklin or Michael’s or A.C.Moore other crafts store is bound to have bargains galore right now, so I would suggest you shop your heart out and get tons of handmade gift ideas.

In the meantime, you may also wonder just how to get some Christmas Portraits that aren’t the same old same old! Here are some ideas:

My Santa Picture

December 1st, 2010

I have a Santa picture — Santa and Me!

I went to see Santa in Santaland (in the Willow Lawn Shopping Center in Richmond).

It was still early in the season, so there were no lines of kids, and this year, I finally had my picture taken with Santa:

My Santa Picture

The previous years, Santa’s helper always offered to take a photo but I thought it was silly, and now — I think it was me who was being silly.

I don’t feel inspired by just any Santa I meet in a Mall at Christmas time, but this one has that certain “je ne sais quoi” (sp?).

Ahm, it means “that certain I don’t know what (or “something”)” in case you don’t speak French.

And the longer I look at it, the more I realize that my Santa picture is also a GREAT example of a Christmas portrait — okay, maybe not all that original. But I love it and I’m going to post it on every one of my blogs, and send it to my friends…

And of course, why wouldn’t it be a great example of a Christmas portrait? I guess that’s why Santa sets up shop in the Mall, with a photographer sidekick.

And you know, I’m so glad he did. I have decided that this photo will be my lucky charm!
